El Cocuy 3-day Excursion

Night one:
After being picked-up from your hotel by our English-speaking guide, you will head to the bus terminal. You will take a luxury overnight bus to el Cocuy, where you will arrive in on the following morning.
Day one:
We will roll around town at around 7am and have breakfast at the Cocuy village upon arrival, and go buy the food we will eat for the following days. After, we will get on jeeps, headed towards the Hacienda la Esperanza, at 3.600MASL.
There we will leave our things in the cabins, and get ready for our first hike. We will have an acclimatization hike in the area, to get our bodies acquainted with the altitude and the terrain. We will adapt the routes to your ability. That night, we will have a delicious meal, and go to bed early to rest up for our hike the next day.
Day two:
We will wake up around 7:00am and have a delicious breakfast and get our energy up for our main hike. We will be trekking for around 8 hours total, and will have the chance to walk through the outstanding “Valle de los frailejones” in the páramo, until we reach the big lagoon of the sierra at 4.400MA SL. From there we will hike a bit more until we reach the Púlpito del Diablo, right at the snow edge of the Pan de Azúcar. We will have lunch on our hike and head back after exploring the area. Back at the Hacienda, a delicious dinner will be waiting, and we will once again sleep in cabins.
Day three:
After breakfast at the farm, we will head to some natural hotsprings in the town of Güicánfor a relaxing dip. After that, we will have lunch at the village and take the bus back to Bogotá with the guide. Once in Bogotá we will drive you back to your hotel. Arrival is expected around 11:00pm.
