About this activity
This trip combines in one day two of the best destinations in the Colombian Andes! And it also gives you the opportunity to go one way and return for another, which doubles your experience!
SPECIAL DAYS:
• SATURDAY, MARKET DAY IN VILLA DE LEYVA
• SUNDAY, MARKET DAY IN RÁQUIRA
Depending on the day of the week, we start the tour by different ways to make better use of the time on market days.
Bogotá - Chiquinquirá- Ráquira - Villa de Leyva or
• Bogotá - Puente de Boyacá - Samacá - Villa de Leyva and connect with Ráquira by a provincial road.
The road that connects Chiquinquirá with the Boyacá Bridge has a particular charm: It is a provincial road that does not exert as much influence on the environment as a national highway, which implies more authentic territories where you can better appreciate the daily life of its inhabitants, the work in the countryside, the formation of associative working groups (mingas), crops, their rooms, in short, is a great way to get to know the territory and the people. This route has a particular charm: It is a provincial road that does not exert as much influence on the environment as a national highway, which implies more authentic territories where you can better appreciate the daily life of its inhabitants, the work in the countryside, the formation of associative working groups (mingas), crops, their rooms, in short, is a great way to get to know the territory and the people.
And then, Villa de Leyva, a white town founded in 1572, one of the most beautiful in Colombia, a national monument in Architecture and universal heritage of humanity according to Unesco. Tour of the village, lunch in a typical restaurant, free time to go, shopping (there are nice products and handicrafts) or let yourself be carried away by the charm of the town.
We take the road Ráquira (town of potters, according to the translation of the Chibcha, native language). Although Ráquira has been awarded several times by the National Tourism Corporation as the most beautiful town in Boyacá, its beauty is very different from Villa de Leyva. It is a total contrast. While the Villa has that calm character that invites to rest and reflection (especially during the week), Ráquira is a party of colors and sounds.
Around 4 pm we started the return to Bogotá, arriving around 7 pm.
Finally, your guide will take you back to the door of your hotel.
