BOLOGNA BY RUN: Sightseeing running tours

TOWER & PORTICOS

Glide through the medieval porticos (38 km in the center alone) and around the numerous towers (24 still standing, including the two most famous, 

Asinelli and

Garisenda, of the original 100+) of Bologna's large historical center. The arcades themselves constitute an artistic and architectural gem, thanks to their uniqueness and variety. They are often seen along the main arteries downtown and permit us to run rain or shine, glimpsing sites to visit and traditional and hip places to hang out and dine.

SAN LUCA

Exit the center from the beautiful Porta Saragozza and follow the continuous historical portico up to the San Luca Basilica, located on the Colle della Guardia (at 300 meters above sea level), a symbol of the city. The extraordinary architectural complex of the portico of San Luca leads the visitor to the Basilica, climbing the hill through long stretches of alternating inclined planes and

 steps (2 km climb). The tour represents a show within a show taking in the breathtaking views from Bologna's famous hills.

PANORAMA

Tour of the the south side of Bologna's historical center, sloping through the hills ("I colli") and forest parks that provide various levels of paths. Take in the scent of nature, forests and plants – just a few steps away from the old center, climbing up to and visiting the historical church and observation point of San Michele in Bosco before diving back into the lattice of streets and arcades around the city.

All our tours last approximately one (1) hour and come full circle to end in Piazza Maggiore, the pulsing heart of Bologna's beautiful medieval center.
