A cycling tour through art, history and nature, riding the latest generation of e-bikes, will allow you to enjoy a day in the beautiful natural environment of the Historical Park of Monte Sole. An expert MTB guide will accompany you along roads and paths, through woods and ridges, through medieval villages and places of memory, to discover one of the most beautiful areas of the entire Apennines.

With a short train journey we will reach Vergato, where our itinerary starts. Here, our guide will help us to adjust our bicycles and will explain us how to use them in the best way then, after wearing our helmets and technical clothing, we'll go on our adventure.
We will reach the nearby Grizzana Morandi, where where we could visit the house of the famous painter Giorgio Morandi. Indeed, he stayed in these places from 1913, where he loved to go out early in the morning for drawing and painting. Today, the museum house collects family memories, brushes, tubes of color, jugs and jars.
We will cycle immersed in the nature of the Apennines, following paths and dirt roads, passing through a series of medieval villages well preserved along ancient Etruscan and Roman roads, such as Castelvecchio and Tudiano. These are the gateway to the Historical Park of Monte Sole, crossed by the Gothic Line.
In addition to its extraordinary natural beauty and the richness fauna, the Park is characterized by its historical value originated from the tragic events of the autumn of 1944. Here, in fact, hundreds of innocent people were slaughtered, by the Nazi-Fascist forces, writing one of the darkest pages of the War of Liberation and of the italian history. We will ride along the memorial, from San Martino to Casaglia and admiring the wide panoramas and the nature of intense beauty, we can understand how the Second World War marked these areas.
We will stop at the foot of Monte Sole, where we could enjoy an open-air picnic, in the shade of the old oaks. If you are not tired, you could hike to the top of the mountain, where a memorial stone commemorates the Red Star Partisan Brigade that fought on these mountains. Back in the saddle, we will descend to the valley, following the path that runs along the river, before returning to Bologna.

The price for children is referred to transport on a baby seat (approved up to 22kg), and only one child is allowed per bicycle; at the time of booking, please consider the distribution of children in relation to the adults; seats are available upon request at the time of booking; the price for children includes return train tickets and lunch.
In case of bad weather, failure to adhere to a minimum number of participants or every condition that make it impossible for the activities to be carried out properly, the staff reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving timely notice to the participants and guaranteeing a full refund or issuing a voucher that can be used to participate in the next tour or for the purchase of an alternative tour.
