ITINERARY
9:30 Meeting point across the street from the Cité du Vin (The Wine City) where your guide will be waiting for you. Departure from Bordeaux to the Medoc area.
10:30 Arrive at your first Classified Growth Chateau for a visit and tasting in the Margaux appellation.
12:00 Lunch in a delightful setting in the town of Margaux or picnic in the parc of a Château (depending on the availabilities and weather).
2:15 Visit and tasting at another famous Classified Growth chateau in the St Julien appellation.
3:45 French aperitif hour - drink and a light snack of red wine, french bread and cheeses, saucissons (some thing dont translate - lunch meats), rillettes, all on the rooftop overlooking the vines to end the day.
4:30 Departure for Bordeaux.
Practical information : Wear sensible shoes and layers. Cellars can be cool and we may walk through the vines.
Each visit last between 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. and is conducted by an English speaking guide in the chateaux. The visits cover the vines, grape varieties, wine making and end with a tasting of several wines.
Please be on time for departure.
