We went on two half-days trips, to two different regions of Bordeaux, with two different guides, and found both tours equally interesting and enjoyable. Both trips were with large groups, Our first tour was to the Medoc region. Our guide Christine explained as we travelled the history of wine growing, speaking both in French then in English. We visited two chateaux where upon arriving we were split into French and English speaking groups. We learnt further about the chateaux we were visiting, the grapes they were growing and the wine they produced, sampling two wines at each chateaux. Our second tour was to St Emillion and the beautiful Chateaux Pressac. Brigitte, our tour guide, once again explained the history of wine growing as we travelled, but delivered the explanation in a different style to our first guide so it was still very interesting (speaking both in French then in English). Brigitte also explained the history of St Emillions in both languages, pointing out lots of interesting items as we walked through the village and churches. We remained in one large group on arriving at the Chateaux Pressac, where the company guide spoke French then in English about the grapes which were being grown and the wine produced. Again we sampled two wines. As non-drivers we think these tours are a good experience to see in a very short space of time the countryside, villages and chateaux of Bordeaux whilst at the same time learning more about the wine industry.

So glad we did this trip and got to see the amazing St Emillion. Our tour guide Beatrice was great, as was the winetasting tour at the chateau

The sights were beautiful, but my group and I did not love this tour. It seems we spent more time listening to people talk about wine than actually getting to sip or enjoy the gorgeous chateau. It was quick off the bus, listen to a long presentation, taste a few sips of wine while standing around, and then quick back on the bus. I would not recommend this trip if you are looking for a relaxing day in the vineyards.

During this tour we visited two wineries with about 50 other participants. We only received 4 very small tastings. I think there are probably better options elsewhere.

The guide was very knowledgeable, St Emilion was a beautiful medieval town to visit and learning about the wine making process at the chateaux was interesting. Tasting two wines at the end was a nice wine to finish the tour before heading back to Bordeaux.

Nice wine experience in Bordeaux, wine tasting delightful, I loved that you could choose either French or English guidance, staff was really kind, I wish you could go to more than 2 vineyards and to be allowed to actually go through the vineyards.
