Duration: 8 hours
Stop At: Chateau de La Dauphine, rue Poitevine, 33126 Fronsac France
For your fist visit we are heading to Fronsac. A lesser known but historical appellation on the edge of the Dordogne River. This château was built in the mid 1700s by a lawyer at the Parliament of Paris, and a Civil and Criminal Judge. Shortly after its construction, Maria Josepha of Saxony, the Dauphine of France (the wife of Louis-Ferdinand of France, who, as the son of Louis XV, was the Dauphin), and mother of several of the last Kings of France (including Louis XVI) stayed at the château for a few days. This event contributed to the property's reputation, which was named in memory of the Princess’s visit.
Following the visit we will taste 3 of the properties wines.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Castle of La Rivière, rue Goffre, 33126 La Riviere, France
At the confluence of the Isle & Dordogne rivers, at the top of the limestone plateau, this impressive Chateau overlooks the Dordogne valley and offers you a stunning view over the river and its 160 acres of vines. Discover an unusual underground cellar with 20 acres and make your way in the middle of 700 000 bottles of ageing wines. To conclude the visit, you will taste 3 wines of the properties.
The lunch included, will take place, either on the grounds of the property with a breathtaking view on the Château and vineyards.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Chateau Petit-Village, 126 rue de Catusseau, 33500 Pomerol France
2:00pm
After lunch, hop back in your minivan with the group and depart to your next visit, a charming Château in the Pomerol appellation, home of some of the most prestigious wines in the world. Did I mention Merlot? Leave your preconceptions at the door. This is not what you may know of as Merlot. Learn what "terroir" has to do with taste.
The sober architecture of the Château contrasts perfectly well with the stunningly modern wine cellars.
After the visit you will try the two wines of the Château, well known to be of high quality. They have the incomparable richness and finesse of the greatest wines of Pomerol.
