About this activity
Embark on your Garonne River cruise near Bordeaux city center, and be welcomed aboard with a cocktail. One of France’s longest rivers, the Garonne snakes through the city and the surrounding wine region, and is the perfect vantage point to capture the beauty of Bordeaux. Sit back, relax and enjoy views of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed buildings and landmarks that line the historic waterfront.

Stately Place de la Bourse, Quai Richelieu and the imposing Gothic spire of Basilica of St Michael all take on a beautiful glow at night, illuminated by the orange hue of the floodlights. Camera in hand, glide under the Pont du Pierre bridge, pass the Port of Bassens and reach Château Grattequina, the turning-point on your cruise.

Enjoy a 3-course dinner as the sparkling city sights drift slowly past. Menus vary according to the season, but all dishes are freshly prepared on board and make full use of the local produce available (see sample menu below. Drinks are available to purchase at your own expense).

After three hours of cruising the river, arrive back at the dock.

To begin with, the cruise was 30 minutes late leaving port. We took this particular cruise as it stressed See the lights of Bordeaux from the water. We spent about 30 minutes where the lights were and then travelled up river where there was absolutely nothing to see. As we dont speak much French the one waiter who did speak English left before we left port our service was not the best. The food came to the table only lukewarm and you had no choice of menu. I would not waste the time or money to take this cruise

The tour was supposed to be 3 hours .. Was only 2 .... There was no guide about what we were passing etc... The food was nice but very small ..main course was two tiny pieces of fish.. Over all disappointing for the price .. 116 euro for both of us

Not worth doing in the Autumn as very little to see in the dark. Also, dinner was duck for starter and main and my wife does not like duck.

Excellent experience. Beverage and meal choices were very good. The service was impeccable. The crew had the timing down pat. Only trouble was confusion in the boarding area. We were waiting at the doc labeled appropriately. Who knew there were two docks, both labeled the same. The boat operator should make a distinction between the two docks. Many of us were waiting and would have missed the boat if my husband had not seen a long line of people at the other end of the doc.

On the plus side, the boat has great staff friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was OK but not very warm. The real downside is that the trip is just dull. Don't expect anything like a cruise though Paris on the Seine or London on the Thames. This stretch of the Garonne is largely scruffy and industrial.

Booked 4 course meal, got downgraded 3 courses, only explanation was it sometimes happens with web bookings.....can not do anything about it now. This despite us producing our booking details, it's a con.

The best choice we done. A night tour with dinner looking and viewing lighted Bordeaux. It was the best.

As advertised. Boat was comfortable and sittings for dinner well appointed. Tip: Ask for the Port side of the boat at reservation if 2 if you as it gets best Bordeaux city views until sunset. Larger groups get the middle and there is assigned seating! Starter excellent! Main dessert OK.
