Saint Emilion premium day tour

ITINERARY
9:00 Meet your group and depart for Saint Emilion.
On the way to your first visit your guide will introduce you to the Bordeaux wines, the St Emilion classification, the" terroir" (basically soil and climate), and the grape varieties and how each of these elements can influence the flavour of wine.
10:00 Visit and tasting in a Chateau in the Pomerol appellation. Leave your preconceptions about Merlot at the door. You will be surprised at the difference the Bordeaux terroir makes.
11:15 Your second visit in a First Classified Growth of the Saint Emilion appellation. Your experience will start on the open terrace of the Château with sweeping views over the prestigious Châteaux surrounding the estate: Chateau Figeac, Cheval-Blanc, La Conseillante, L’Evangile, Petrus, Gazin. Blind tasting of several wines after the visit n the private cellars of the owner. Quite an unusual experience!
12:30 Lunch at the restaurant of the Château, nestled amongst the Saint Emilion vineyards. The restaurant is a popular choice among Bordeaux chateau owners, wine merchants and wine makers. A good lunch of Southwest cuisine included!
2:00 The third visit of the day is at a Classified Growth of St Emilion. A blend of ultra modern wine-making techniques and traditional architecture.
3:15 Travel through time with a guided visit of Saint Emilion, a medieval village listed UNESCO World Heritage town. You will have plenty of free time to explore on your own and do some essential shopping.
4:00 To end the day with a convivial touch, join your group and share a typical French aperitif with crémant (sparkling wine), French bread, cheeses, paté & the traditional local macaroons.
4:45 Return to Bordeaux.
