About this activity

You will enjoy the most relaxed tour to Saint Emilion starting from Bordeaux. This tour allows for more free time in Saint Emilion than the half day would while not being as intense on Chateau visits as the full day. A perfect combination of an easy-going visit & wine tasting in a local winery with that of a relaxed visit of the Chateau and plenty of time to enjoy on your own

On this slow pace tour, it all starts with a late morning departure! Take your time for breakfast and reach the historical center of Bordeaux smoothly to begin your tour. Your first stop will be in a carefully chosen Winery of the Right Bank. Here you will enjoy a very chilled out visit in a winery that is ideally located. A little bit of history, some touch of technique, the wine tour will focus mainly on the wines of the Chateau and end by a commented tasting.

As the tour moves in on, you will arrive in the small village of Saint Emilion. Follow your guide on a short walking tour so that you can get your bearings rapidly. It will be time for the guide to suggest some of the best activities that can be done in the village such as strolling through the medieval streets, visiting the unique underground monuments, climb up the 55 meter bell tower, visit the shop that "owns" the original "Macaron of Saint Emilion" recipe and eat your fill out of this delicious cake. Another option is to just sit at one of the numerous terrace's and sip on some delicious wines. Another fantastic feature of Saint Emilion is the very high number of quality restaurants that can be found. Just ask your guide for recommendations, there are many options that range from historical Wine Bars to Michelin Starred restaurants.

After lunch, you will have enough time to stroll through the village including several possible visits on your own such as climbing up the 55 meter high bell tower for a most unique view on the vineyards. Another option is to hop from one wine shop to another and participate in tastings of local appellations - your guide can suggest some of the wine cellars that are present in the village. Another option is to just sit back and relax in one of the numerous terraces and sip on delicious Saint Emilion red wines.
