This gilded mansion is said to have been inspired by the 18th-century Petit Trianon at Versailles. Your guide will explain how William carried on his family’s fortune to become the richest man in the world by the time of his death in 1877.
Stop At: Ocean Drive, Newport, RI
After your tour, sit back and relax as you drive along Ocean Drive (10-Mile Drive) and admire the spectacular views of mansions and coves dusted with snow before returning to Boston.

Three college friends joined me on the trip to Newport. We had a wonderful time! The coach/ride was comfortable and informative. The mansions were amazing and even more beautifully decorated for Christmas. The coach driver was friendly, knowledgeable and guided us to great places to eat for lunch. I would do the trip again!
We loved this tour- Newport is lovely and the houses spectacular. Well worth going on and would highly recommend to anyone who loved Christmas.
Loved it!
The driver Dave Egan, was very nice, polite, funny and informative. Easy drive. Beatuful mansions. Only downfall, we were a bit rushed. Home by 730 instead of 630 would have been better.
