About this activity
Enjoy a day away from the city with this private day trip to nearby Salem. Your private driver will chauffeur your group out of the city in your choice of vehicle. Leave the transportation to the professionals so you can enjoy an entire day of fun!

Start your trip with pickup at your hotel or local Boston accommodations and make your way north. Drive roughly 15 miles or 45-minutes until you arrive in Salem. Known as the 'Witch City', Salem pays homage to everything haunted, paranormal, magical, and downright spooky. With your personal driver escorting you through town, you're free to visit as many or as few sites as you'd like. When you're ready to move on to the next, simply let your driver know!

Salem is perhaps best-known as the home of the infamous Salem Witch Trials of 1692. You'll have plenty of opportunities throughout the day to learn more about the witches and the trials that rocked the town. Explore the Broad Street, Charter Street, and Howard Street Cemeteries. Visit Gallows Hill for a live theater performance of the facts, myths, and legends, or discover Salem Witch Village with a practicing witch. To Learn everything there is to know about the trials and the accused at the Salem Witch Museum, the Witch House, the Witch Dungeon Museum, Witch History Museum, or the Witch Trials Memorial.

No trip to the Witch City is complete without a stop at the Salem Wax Museum. Learn all about Salem's rich and storied history through wax figures depicting everything from the witch trials to the coastal town's seafarers. Continue through Salem and stop for a photo with the Bewitched statue, a staple of the town paying tribute to the beloved TV show and its spunky witch.

If you've had your fill of haunts or you're more interested in Salem's traditional history, visit any number of the town's other cultural institutions. Explore the charming McIntire Historic District, spend some time at the impressive Peabody Essex Museum, tour the Pioneer Village for a glimpse into the life of a 17th-century fishing village, or discover the Salem Pirate Museum. Don't miss the House of the Seven Gables, a unique museum that includes a look at Nathaniel Hawthorne's birthplace.

After enjoying a full day of haunted happenings and local history, your day trip to Salem will conclude with transportation back to your local Boston hotel or accommodations.
