ONE DAY KARST AND SUNNY VIPAVA VALLEY TOUR

ITINERARY:
Morning pick up from departure point by our guide. Drive along Soca Valley that will slowly take you out of narrow Alpine valley into wider open area and finally onto Karst plateau on the border with Italy. First visit will be in Skocjan Caves. Visit magnificent underground canyon and unspoilt underground world that was put on UNESCO list already in 1986. Stop at Lipica stud farm, the homeland of famous white Lipizzaner horses. Area is homeland also to typical local red wine teran and dried ham prosciutto, so no better place to stop and taste them. Leave Karst region and descend to Vipava Valley, bordered on one side with high mountains is an area of powerful burja wind that left mark also in local architecture. Visit of tranquil, medieval stone town Vipavski Križ, that offers a look into old days of the area. Drive back to Soca valley and stop to see Kozjak waterfall. An easy hike through forests, along picturesque Soca river will bring us to the waterfall. After deserved photosession on the last stop of the day return to Bovec for dropoff...and deserved rest.
