Our driver Luis was prompt and professional. He gave us the background of wine making while driving is to our first winery. The first winery was magical. Mr. Fernandes was an excellent host and took us on a tour of his estate which was amazing. He explained the process of making 'green wine' and afterwards presented a delicious wine tasting along with some yummy snacks. We did not want to leave. Then Luis took us to a popular local restaurant in a small village where we ate a traditional lunch along with the locals. Afterwards Luis drove us to a second winery, not as charming as Mr. Fernando's winery but very nice as well, and different. Here we also got a tour of the grounds which included some very old buildings. Afterwards we were presented with some delicious wine to taste but unfortunately no snacks were presented. This tour was excellent and worth the money and we would go again in a heartbeat.
Our guide Marco was enthusiastic, spoke excellent english and was a conservative driver on what were pretty windy roads. The farm we visited in the morning made the trip for us.An excellent day.
We have done a lot of wine tours over the years but this one was very special for us. We had a private tour as no one else had booked for the day. So grateful they did not cancel it. Our guide John was fantastic and was in tune to what we were enjoying and allowed us time based on this. The small, quaint wineries that we visited were just our style. Everything about the day was perfect - the wine, the food, and the people we met. The day was the highlight of our two weeks in Portugal and Spain.

This is an excellent alternative to the more popular Douro Valley tours. Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating and picked us up from right outside out apartment. We would absolutely encourage people to try this tour and experience the fabulous vineyard of the entrepreneurial Fernando Fernandes and much, much more!
Quite interesting tour. Especially first part of the day. We have really interesting walking with owner of the first small winery and wine in this winery was beautiful. Tasting of the wine in this winery with range of other delicacies produced on the estate or in the area was excellent.
