Taste the Romanian Flavours Tour

This day trip offers a perfect match between a history lesson at Prejmer Fortified Church, outdoor activities like cycling or horseback riding and an infusion with the life of locals, while you learn about the traditions that have been passed through generations.
On our way to Vama Buzaului, we’ll stop in Prejmer, with a visit to the largest fortified church in southeastern Europe, part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
Our tour continues to Vama Buzaului, where we’ll stop first at The Aurochs Natural Reservations. You’ll have time to enjoy the beautiful views and observe the impressive aurochs, that lived since the most ancient times in Moldova, Wallachia and Transylvania, but can only been seen in reservations or zoos.
Then we’ll begin our experience of truly slow living, with a visit to a local family, Gospodaria lui Nea Ion from Vama Buzaului. The place is charged with history, by the setting and the effort of keeping traditions and customs of our ancestors, and bears the name of a brave farmer in the commune, Ion Anghel, former beekeeper, carpenter and hunter. You’ll indulge yourself with organic food and three dishes from the local cuisine, seasoned with traditional Transylvanian drinks, local wine and “pălincă”.
After lunch, you can explore the beauty of this natural heritage area, by practicing an easy active activity, like cycling or horse riding through the forest.
Our last stop of the day in Vama Buzaului will be at an ecological farm. You will taste organic cheese and meat delicacies and learn about the traditional methods of preparing these products.
