Highlights of Slovakia in 3 days with transfer from Vienna

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Vienna and Bratislava. Visit Bojnice castle, open air museum in the Čičmany village, Orava castle.

Stop At: SNM - Bojnice Castle Museum, Bojnice, Trencin Region
On the first morning, it’s vital that we leave no later than 9 o’clock. A two-hour journey takes us to the Bojnice castle. We'll visit one of the most beautiful castles in middle Europe. National Geographic Travel included this castle into TOP 10 European castles.

Stop At: Cicmany, Cicmany, Zilina Region
From Bojnice we'll move to atypical village Čičmany where we can see wooden houses with painted geometrical ornamentation.
This village is really open air museum.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Orava Castle, Oravsky Podzamok, Zilina Region
Next, we’ll drive about an hour to one of the most beautiful castles in Slovakia: Oravský hrad, where one of the first ever vampire movies was filmed – Nosferatu (1922).

Day 2: UNESCO heritage: Spiš castle, Bardejov town and wooden churches

Stop At: Spis Castle, Zehra, Kosice Region
From this picturesque village and castle we head on our way to eastern Slovakia, where we’ll visit Spis Castle, one of the largest mediaeval castles in central Europe. After lunch in classical slovak restaurant, we make our way north to the Pieniny National Park, which we share with neighbouring Poland.

Stop At: Bardejov Spa, Bardejovske Kupele, Presov Region
But before we'll visit mediaeval town Bardejov, registered on the World UNESCO Heritage list. One of the most interesting buildings is the town hall, built in 1505 and the gothic church. The Bardejov spa has played host to a number of dignitaries, including Marie Louise (the wife of Napoleon Bonaparte), Tsar Alexander I. of Russia and Empress Elisabeth, Sisi, of Austria-Hungary.

Stop At: Tatras National Park, Tatranska Lomnica, Presov Region
We’ll stay overnight in one of the most beautiful and remote villages in Slovakia: Osturňa. Lying on the Slovak-Polish border, surrounded by beautiful countryside, this little delight also holds heritage status thanks to its ancient wooden houses, which hark back to times gone by, and are sure to leave you enchanted. Your well-appointed accommodation will provide you with an excellent dinner, and breakfast the next day.

Day 3: Historical reservation village Osturňa, High Tatras National Park and Banská Štiavnica Unesco heritage

Stop At: Tatras National Park, Tatranska Lomnica, Presov Region
After breakfast, we’ll start heading back towards Bratislava, passing the High Tatras National Park. We'll stop there for short break. High Tatras is the oldest National Park in Slovakia. The highest peak is Gerlachovský štít (2.655 MASL)

Stop At: Old Castle Banska Stiavnica, Banska Stiavnica, Banska Bystrica Region
Through the High Tatras and Low Tatras National Parks a two-hour journey takes us to the town of Banská Štiavnica, a UNESCO Heritage site. We’ll take in a tour of this picturesque town, then have a short break and lunch.
Late afternoon we'll drive to Bratislava/Vienna.
