Medieval Bratislava with a historian - 3 hours

About this activity
This tour unravels the stories and secrets of life in the Middle Ages. It is an extended version of the 2-hours tour.
Castle is the best starting point of our tour because it is easier to walk downhill at the beginning than uphill at the end of the tour. We continue through the oldest parts of Bratislava to St. Martin's Church that is its heart. Moreover, St. Martin's offers a unique insight into the medieval way of thinking. After that we would visit the city walls, which reveal the tensions and dangers of those times, as well as the former High Street of the romanesque town, that was later converted into a peaceful ecclesiastical quarter. We cannot bypass the oldest nunnery with a splendid tower that really isn't and the oldest preserved church with its Sainte Chapelle. All these monuments have been guarded for centuries by St. Michael from his gate. Finally, our way will lead us to the centre of municipal power - the Old Town Hall and we will look for the Mediterranean-like houses around.
Highlights:
Castle
St. Martin's Church (nowadays Cathedral)
Kapitulska Street
Fortification Walls and St. Michael's Gate
Poor Clares Monastery
Franciscan Monastery
Old Town Hall and Main Square
Academia Istropolitana College
and many more
Inclusions:
entrance fee to St. Martin's Church (Cathedral) and to Old Town Hall Tower
