Bratislava City Tour with Optional Devin Castle Visit

Start your tour with a pickup from your centrally located Bratislava hotel and board your air-conditioned vehicle with your driver-guide. On a walking tour around Bratislava Old Town, see St Michael’s Gate, the only remaining of Bratislava's four medieval tower gates, and Main Square. This picturesque 13th-century quadrant is flanked by pastel-colored houses and hosts the 15th-century Old Town Hall. Admire its exterior, and then stroll to beautiful Primatial Square. Gaze at the neoclassical façade of its beautiful 18th-century Primatial Palace (Primaciálny Palác), a former archbishop’s residence, and, if it’s open on the day, go inside to witness its famous Hall of Mirrors and artworks.

Pass the Reduta building and continue to 14th-century St Martin’s Cathedral, the scene of the coronations of 11 Austro-Hungarian monarchs. Finish with a drive around Bratislava’s other landmarks, including the Presidential Palace, Slavín War Memorial and Bratislava Castle. Your tour then ends with a hotel drop-off.

Alternatively, upgrade to visit Devín Castle after your city tour. A 10-minute drive outside of Bratislava, this ruined 8th-century castle stands above the Danube and Morava rivers. Leave your guide and enter the castle (own expense) to explore its museum, where the displays tell the castle’s rich history and how it was destroyed by Napoleon’s army in 1809. Then, marvel at the incredible river views from the battlements before perhaps recharging with a drink and a snack at one of the nearby eateries (own expense).
