Take a tram tour through flowing streams, deep pools of crystal clear water and towering columns characterize this living cave. Gaze in wonder at the white flow stones and in awe at the beauty of the speleothems which adorn the cave. Be sure to make Harrisons Cave your first stop while in Barbados and tram through to unearth the adventure! St. Nicholas Abbey Rum and the surrounding gardens, orchards, gullies and the adjacent Cherry Tree Hill. We look forward to welcoming you to St. Nich. This beautiful plantation was purchased in 2006 to ensure its preservation for both future generations of Barbadians and visitors to our island. We believe our architectural heritage is part of who we are as a people; that buildings and landscapes provide us with an in-depth view of the craftsmanship, trade, and culture of their time. We welcome you to spend as much time as you like enjoying the Plantation's tranquil surroundings. Complimentary guided tours of the great house showcase a wealth of tradition, including antiques and artifacts spanning the home's 350-year history. Visitors may also explore the boiling house and rum distillery where we produce as Abbey. Enjoy an impressive Flower Forest Botanical Garden tour in Barbados to visit the tropical paradise, which is located in the heart of the Barbados countryside in St. Joseph. This stunning botanical garden is a home to a multitude of majestic palms, tropical flowers, and colorful shrubs. At the Flower Forest Botanical Garden, you can meander through the beautifully laid pathways (some are flat and some are with steps) to explore the beauty of this garden. The topography of this park features gentle hills that s amazing vistas of the eastern coastline and a lush countryside. The Flower Forest Botanical Garden covers around 53 acres, of which 7 acres are full of wild gardens and greenery. The Barbados Wildlife Reserve is located in the parish of Saint Peter, Barbados. It occupies four acres of mahogany forest near the top of Farley Hill, next to Grenade Hall Signal Station and Forest. It was established by Canadian primatologist Jean Baulu and his wife, Suzanne. They first founded the Barbados Primate Research Centre on the site in 1982, for the conservation and study of Green Monkeys, which were brought to Barbados in the 17th century and are now widespread on the island. It was expanded into a wildlife reserve in 1985, with funding from the Canadian International Development Agency. In addition to the Green Monkeys, which roam freely in and out of the fenced enclosure, the Wildlife Reserve also keeps a variety of other animals, many of which roam the Reserve freely without separation from visitors. These include Red Brockets, Red-footed Tortoises, Patagonian Maras, Cuban Rock Iguanas, and numerous caged tropical birds. The buildings in the Wildlife Reserve are all constructed from coral rock, excavated from nearby sugarcane fields. All of the bricks that form its paths were recycled from sugar factories. Bathsheba is the main fishing village in the parish of Saint Joseph with some 5,000 inhabitants on the east coastline of Barbados. The town has a number of quaint churches; Saint Joseph Anglican Church was built on Horse Hill in the town as early as 1640 but was rebuilt in 1839 following a hurricane in 1831. Little Saint Joseph Chapel was built nearby in 1837 but was restored and dedicated to Saint Aiden in 1904 following a landslide. It has a number of attractions including the Flower Forrest and Cotton Tower which is renowned for its dramatic scenery and views of Scotland District. The ecologically rich Joe's River Tropical Rainforest is located on the outskirts of the town with some 85 acres (340,000 m2) of woodland and rainforest with giant ficus, centifolia, fid woods, white woods, cabbage palm trees and mahogany trees. Bathsheba Beach is known as the Soup Bowl where local and international surfing competitions take place annually. Another notable feature of Bathsheba beach is the large boulder that sits slightly offshore, known by some as Bathsheba Rock.
