Established in 1983 by Goldie Spieler, Earthworks is now run by her son David, along with the capable Earthworks staff of 24 persons. Red clay ceramic pieces fired to stoneware temperatures make our pottery ideal for the home or restaurant. Earthworks have created a fully functional line of tableware in round, square, rectangular and oval. From 20" platters to plates to tiny coasters; bowls in all shapes and sizes. Running parallel in matching colors and patterns are vases, lamps, desk and bathroom accessories. The dinnerware and serving piece selection - 34 house patterns in round - 12 in Square - will fill most commercial, home or office needs, but if you have a specific desire that can be made of clay - for example, a house name or house number, a bathroom sink, splash tiles, accents or floor tiles, they will diligently make it for you. At the heart of Barbados lies one of its greatest wonders, Harrisons Cave. Located in the central uplands of the island, this breathtakingly beautiful, crystallized limestone cavern is a testament to natures mastery. Take a tram tour through flowing streams, deep pools of crystal clear water and towering columns characterize this living cave. Gaze in wonder at the white flow stones and in awe at the beauty of the speleothems which adorn the cave. Be sure to make Harrisons Cave your first stop while in Barbados and tram through to unearth the adventure! We offer an impressive Flower Forest Botanical Garden tour in Barbados to visit the tropical paradise, which is located in the heart of the Barbados countryside- the St, Joseph. This stunning botanical garden is a home to a multitude of majestic palms, tropical flowers, and colorful shrubs. At the Flower Forest Botanical Garden, you can meander through the beautifully laid pathways to explore the beauty of this garden. The topography of this park features gentle hills and amazing vistas of the eastern coastline and a lush countryside. The Flower Forest Botanical Garden covers around 53 acres, of which 7 acres are full of wild gardens and greenery. St. Nicholas Abbey was purchased to ensure its preservation for both future generations of Barbadians and visitors to our island. We believe our architectural heritage is part of who we are as a people; that buildings and landscapes provide us with an in-depth view of the craftsmanship, trade, and culture of their time. We welcome you to spend as much time as you like enjoying the Plantation's tranquil surroundings. Complimentary guided tours of the great house showcase a wealth of tradition, including antiques and artifacts spanning the home's 350-year history. Visitors may also explore the boiling house and rum distillery where we produce St. Nicholas Abbey Rum and the surrounding gardens, orchards, gullies and the adjacent Cherry Tree Hill. We look forward to welcoming you to St. Nicholas Abbey.
