About this activity
The tour commences outside the visitor information center in Queen Street Mall,

You will walk through the heart of the city starting your tour by discussing the 'garden' in the Wintergarden. As we head off into the city streets you will see a mix of public commissions, some formal, others more contemporary. Some will have you debating what the setting was when the sculpturer captured 'that moment'. As you move through the streets you will see examples of early colonial architecture sitting alongside shiny new skyscrapers. Moving toward the river, you will discover street art hidden lin laneways, and will learn the story of a piece of art that took three years to carve in situ high up on a very significant building.

Leaving the north side of the city you will cross the Brisbane River by walking across the Kurilpa Bridge, a piece of art in itself. This is a perfect opportunity to view Brisbane from a different perspective and take a moment to capture the Brisbane River to share with your friends when you arrive home. On our way to our last destination, QAGOMA Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, you will continue to see more pieces along the way as your guide provides you with suggestions for lunch and and other things to do during your stay in Brisbane, and of course directions to even more art! Your walk will conclude at QAGOMA where you will be able to spend the afternoon wandering through the galleries or explore the nearby South Bank Parklands.
