About this activity
The tour commences outside the visitor information center in Queen Street Mall, and passes many of Brisbane's early colonial buildings and historical sites, sculptures, monuments and street art, all with their own story to tell.

You will walk through the shopping heart of the city, including the heritage listed Brisbane Arcade. As you visit King George Square you will learn of the history of Brisbane City Hall, passing by a monument to early settlers. Moving down to the city's first laneway, you will see examples of Brisbane street art and sculptures. Enjoy the Botanical Gardens and see one of the oldest trees grown for commercial purposes, followed by a stroll along the Brisbane River. Moving out of the gardens you will visit Queensland's oldest church; where you will discover a truly beautiful sculpture.

Your walk will conclude along the riverfront at Eagle Street Pier, taking in a spectacular view of the Story Bridge, where your guide will provide you with some suggestions for lunch and what to do during the rest of your time in Brisbane.

Our guide, Lee-Anne met us with a cheery welcome and we began our three hour walk around Brisbane. Lee-Anne has a wealth of knowledge about the history of Brisbane, which she imparted as we walked. Part way into the tour we stopped off for a welcome coffee at a boutique coffee shop in one of Brisbane's lanes and drank coffee that was locally roasted. Walking a City with a guide is both a healthy and informative way to absorb an understanding of the history of a City. Lee-Anne Harris' cheery commentary made the walk all the more pleasurable and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the learnings. Recommended.

This was the first thing we did upon arriving in Brisbane so we should have a good feel for the city. Our guide was the best and we enjoyed touring with her. We covered quite a bit of the city in just a couple of hours.

What a wonderful way to spend a morning! Although I was the only person, Leanne was happy to show me a part of Brisbane through a well informed walking tour - which I duplicated for my husband in the afternoon. Thoroughly recommend this tour - a great way to find out more about Brisbane.
