About this activity

Your day tour exploring the Sunshine Coast's hidden natural wonders begins with free pick-up and return to all Brisbane CBD inner city accommodation with the central pick-up point being the Hotel Jen, centrally located in Roma Street (next to the Brisbane Transit Centre and close to all forms of public transport) with departure time at 8.00am. Travelling north along Queensland's Bruce Highway in our luxury Toyota 4WD Landcruiser Prado, we begin this special day's outing on the banks of Lake Wappa, a hidden gem behind the town of Yandina, Queensland's ginger town. With home-made morning tea enjoyed in this very special location, it's up into the mountains of the Mapleton National Park where we place the Toyota into 4WD and explore this spectacular area.

Join your host, Daryl on a fully guided walk into a lush rainforest gully to discover ancient forest giants that were an important and favorite food source of the local Aboriginal people. With a number of stops allowing you to learn about this beautiful area, we then visit the magnificent Mapleton Falls providing extensive views over the lush dairy farming country of the Obi Obi Valley. Descending the narrow dirt road of the Obi Obi Gorge we enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch surrounded by picturesque Australian countryside before visiting a historic cheese factory where you can taste the various cheeses made by hand and purchase the cheeses and other locally made products (own expense). The majestic rainforest that grows beside the picturesque Mary River is our next stop where you will be taken on a guided walk to discover this very special place, home to two of the largest Moreton Bay fig trees in this area. Then it's time to relax and soak up your surroundings with wine and local cheeses beside a rainforest creek before returning to Brisbane with a stop to view the ancient Glass House Mountains bringing an unforgettable experience to an end.
