Itinerary

Day 1: Brisbane - Fraser Island

Stop At: Fraser Island Great Walk, Fraser Island, Queensland Australia
Travel to Cooloola Recreation Area en route to Fraser Island. Spot kangaroos along Noosa North Shore and ride down Teewah Beach. Depending on the tide, you may even marvel at the brilliant red sands of Red Canyon & Rainbow Beach. Drive onto the ferry to Fraser Island and start looking for the wild dingos as you travel! Hang on as your 4WD vehicle bounces over the white sands of 75 Mile Beach for a stop to swim at Eli Creek. Strong swimmers can wade upstream to float back down to the beach on the creek’s gentle current. Your guide serves a tasty picnic lunch at midday. Hike along the rocky coast at Indian Head that boasts great views over the ocean. You may glimpse sharks, turtles, dolphins, rays & even migrating humpback whales (Jul-Nov). Continue by 4WD to see Maheno Shipwreck. Check into your room & have dinner at the onsite restaurant; then take an optional guided night walk on the beach. (Overnight: Eurong Beach Resort)
Duration: 12 hours

Meals included:
• Lunch: Aussie-style picnic lunch served with fresh salads, cold meat & fresh bread rolls/wraps

Day 2: Fraser Island - Brisbane

Stop At: Fraser Island Great Walk, Fraser Island, Queensland Australia
After breakfast, buzz over to Pile Valley for a rainforest walk where you can see satinay trees. Learn about the importance of Fraser Island to the timber industry at Central Station, a formerly bustling logging station. The termites-and-fire-resistant satinay wood was even used in constructing the Suez Canal & London Docks. Continue to stroll along a boardwalk through towering ghost gums, king ferns & pine trees. Also see Wanggoolba Creek where the clear water seems to disappear as it flows over white sand. Swim in Lake Birrabeen or relax on its sandy white beach before we catch the ferry back to the mainland for a late lunch (own expense). Check into your room in Brisbane in the evening.
Duration: 12 hours

Meals included:
• Breakfast: Continental breakfast at Eurong Beach Resort onsite restaurant
Accommodation included: Overnight stay at Brisbane City YHA, Brisbane CBD

Four wheeling along the Eastern Surf Beach to go visit the beautifully romantic Honeymoon Bay & North Point, then soak in the naturally bubbling Champagne Pools (if tidal conditions allow). See Queensland's oldest lighthouse Cape Moreton Lighthouse and learn the history, culture & makeup of the Island in Cape Moreton Museum. After enjoying a refreshing picnic lunch on the beach, swim in the breathtakingly beautiful Blue Lagoon fresh water lake.
