Bath City Tour & Hot Springs Experience - Day Trip from Bristol

You will be met at your hotel in Bristol and transferred by private car to the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath. Your guide was born and grew up in Bath giving you the chance to meet and talk to a real Bathonian! Your tour will start at a fantastic viewpoint over the city where you will continue by foot into the centre of Bath to explore the city and see famous landmarks such as the Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge and more. Your guide will tell you stories about the city's past as well as life today in Bath.

During the tour you will have a guided visit inside the Roman Baths. Built over the city's hot springs, this was one of the greatest religious spas of the ancient world and today these well-preserved remains are one of the finest examples of a Roman Spa complex. Having gained an insight into how the Romans used the hot springs you will have lunch at the famous Pump Rooms. In the 18th Century the Pump Rooms was a fashionable place to drink water from the hot springs and featured in two of Jane Austen's novels.

At the end of the walking tour in Bath you will be taken to the popular Thermae Bath Spa for a 21st Century experience of Bath's hot springs. Here you can bathe in Britain's only naturally-warmed mineral waters as people have been doing in Bath for over a thousand years. Your 2 hour spa session includes access to the indoor Minerva Pool, the outdoor Rooftop Pool and the Wellness Suite which includes steam rooms, an ice-room, infra-red room and a relaxation room.

After your session at the spa you will be driven back to your hotel in Bristol. Depending upon traffic and the location of your hotel you should arrive around 7pm. If you would like to have dinner in Bath before returning to Bristol we would be happy to accommodate this, please let us know in advance.

The price of the tour includes your admission into the Roman Baths and a Thermae Welcome 2 hour spa session. This spa session does not include treatments e.g. facials, massages. Meals are not included in the price of the tour.

There is a minimum age requirement of 16 years old for this tour. The tour does not operate on a Saturday or Sunday.

Insider tip: The Thermae Bath Spa is open to the public and tends to be quieter on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
