About this activity
Day 1: Bucharest - Iasi

Depart from Bucharest towards Iasi, the largest city in eastern Romania. Located in the Moldavia region, Iasi has traditionally been one of the leading centers of Romanian social, cultural, academic and artistic life. Laşi features historical monuments, 500-year-old churches and monasteries, many of them listed on the National Register of Historic Monuments. Impressive architectural sites include the Trei Ierarhi Monastery, part of the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Site, or the Neo-Gothic Palace of Culture, built on the old ruins of the medieval Princely Court of Moldavia. Among the main attractions we find Traian Hotel – “The autograph” of the famous Goustave Eiffel for Iași, Alecu Balș House – where the first theatre performance in Romania was hosted, Vasile Alecsandri Theatre – the first National Theatre in Romania, The Obelisk of the first Jewish Theatre in the world, Roznovanu Palace – former residence of one of the most powerful families in the history of Iasi, The three cathedrals – St. Parascheva Metropolitan Cathedral, Old Catholic Cathedral, New Catholic Cathedral (St. Mary – The Queen), The Princely Saint Nicholas Church – the oldest church in Iași and the symbol of the city -The Palace of Culture. Overnight in Iasi at a 3 star hotel.

Day 2: Iasi - Republic of Moldova

Breakfast. Transfer to Republic of Moldova. Both countries have the same history, the same culture, similar traditions and they are inhabited by the same nation. In the past the actual Moldova Republic and Moldavia – the Romanian region formed a single country, and at the end of XIX century they became a part of Romania. We arrive in Chisinau. Chisinau is the capital of Moldova. It is the largest city of the country and its political, administrative, economic and cultural centre. The name Chisinau comes from Romanian word "chisla noua" which refers to a spring on the corner of Pushkin and Albisoara streets around which the original city was built . It’s a pretty, friendly place with old historical building, but also new and modern ones. Visit the astonishing wine cellars underneath Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova capital city. Either Cricova or Milestii Mici are breathtaking experiences . Milestii Mici or “wine kingdom”, was included in the Guinness Book for the biggest surface of underground galleries(about 200 km )and the biggest wine collection in bottles (about 2 million ). Important people like Vladimir Putin, Angela Merkel or Yuri Gagarin have been there before you. Accommodation in the Republic of Moldova at a 3 star hotel.
