About this activity
The tour starts at 7 am from your hotel.
Peles Castle
The first destination of the day is Peles Castle from Sinaia so many consider to be the most beautiful castle in Romania and one of the loveliest in Europe. Built in the late 19th century by Romania's first king, Carol the 1st, the castle was the summer residence of the royal family until 1947. It's wonderful work of art that inspired tremendously the architecture of the small mountain resort of Sinaia where the aristocrats built their own residences to be close to the king and his family.
Bran Castle
After the Peles Castle visit, we head on the road of the Queen, built to ease Queen Maria's access to her beloved Bran Castle. Originally a medieval fortress from the 14th century, Bran Castle was given as a gift to Queen Maria in 1920 for her support and dedication in the First World War. She transformed the old fortress into one of her favorite places and took care personally of its impressive gardens. The castle was inherited by her favourite daughter, Princess Ileana, who lived here until her forced exile in 1947.
Lunch in Bran and return to Bucharest late afternoon.
