The first stop of the tour is at Curtea de Arges Monastery. According to its legend, the secret behind one of the most beautiful monasteries in Romania is the human sacrifice that made it possible. Manole, the one who constructed it, walled his wife, Ana, as a gift to God in order to finish the magnificent construction. Finished in 1517, after 5 years of work, the monastery is the Romanian Royal Family’s necropolis.
