About this activity
I pick you up from your hotel, or wherever is most comfortable for you, and we head straight to the City Park, this is where our tour starts. City Park has many sightseeing opportunities including the glorious Vajdahunyad Castle, Széchenyi bath (the largest thermal bath in the capital), the Zoo and an outdoor Ice skating rink. We then head to Hero's Square, where I will give you a short lesson regarding the most important figures in Hungarian history.

Along the famous Andrássy Avenue, we can find the beautiful Neo-renaissance mansions and townhouses featuring fine facades. Homes on this street have been featured on televisions shows such as House Hunters International. it is also one of Budapest's main shopping streets with fine cafes, restaurants, theaters and luxury boutiques.

Then we visit a part of the Jewish heritage, the great Synagogue, which is the biggest synagogue in Europe. We then discover the taste of Hungary in the Central Market Hall where you can find a large selection of Hungarian products, like wines, handicrafts, clothing, many kind of food products.

We have look inside St Stephen Basilica, where the most important reliquary, the "Holy Right Hand", the mummified hand of St Stephen is placed. We then walk around the gorgeous Hungarian Parliament and Liberty Square to discover the stories behind every statue of it.

Time to rest and refresh! We take a lunch break.

We continue our trip to the Royal Castle District crossing the famous Chain Bridge. We visit the charming Royal Castle with its magical history atmosphere, Matthias Church with its beautiful frescos, and the Fisherman's Bastion. Then we enjoy the best panorama in Budapest from the top of Gellért Hill. We pass by Citadella, the unique Pauline Cave Chapel and the famous art-nouveau Gellért Spa.

This tour was the best choice we could have made visiting Budapest. Rashadour guide filled our day with great history and backgrounds to all the sites we walked and subway to. Rashad got in contact with me as soon as I booked the tour. He asked for what and where we wanted to go. The tour was supposed to be 8 hours but at the 8 hour point we still had the chain bridge and Palace to get to. Rashad wanted us to get all the requested sights in and ended up staying with us for almost 10 hours. He even included the Jewish Quarter and the three synagogues. Rashad had his tour planned in such a way that the history and background come into context in the end. His knowledge exceeded excellence and Rashad really wanted us to know how it feels to live in his country that he is so proud of. We had one day to spend in Budapest before the start of our river cruise. You need to wear comfortable shoes but even with them our feet hurt in the end. I strongly recommend Rashad for an all inclusive sight into the history and culture of Budapest. Rashad is the most knowledgeable, caring and ethical tour guide we have ever had. Thank You Rashad. Briliant day out! Rashad was my guide and we had a fully packed day. It was a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes but we saw all the main sights in Budapest. Rashad was great giving you the history and background to Hungary so that each building and sight you saw had context. His knowledge was impressive and he was really passionate and proud of his history and culture. Fantastic day out allowing you to get your bearings on the city and decide where to explore in depth on your remaining vacation days
