In the middle of your transfer either from Budapest to Bratislava or Bratislava to Budapest, take time to enjoy a wonderful wine tour.

The route will take you along the Danube, from northwestern Hungary through southwestern Slovakia. This area holds several wine regions and a massive fortress system that spans both sides of the border. It also has the largest cathedral in Hungary and pretty Baroque towns. You are welcome to taste wine on both sides of the border so that you may compare and contrast.

The route, which follows the Danube, goes through several wine regions in Hungary, including Etyek, Neszmély, and Pannonhalma. These regions are mostly known for their whites.

In Pannonhalma wine is made at the 1,000-year-old abbey. Etyek is full of small family wineries.

In Neszmély a large winery is located on a hill with views to both sides of the Danube.

In Slovakia, the Južnoslovenská Wine Region lies at the meeting point of the rivers Garam, Ipoly, and Danube. It also holds vineyards that once belonged to the bishop of Esztergom, one of Hungary's oldest and most historic cities.

Meals can be at a winery or a restaurant, and will feature local, traditional food.
