The Mediterranean climate, abundance of water and the blessed field have made this area one of the oldest habitats of civilizations on the eastern coast of the Adriatic.

This is not the end of the story. The old olive tree is located in the Old Town of Bar which is believed to be the oldest tree in Europe and one of the oldest in the world. Since 1957, it has been protected by law and declared a natural monument. It is one of the most important natural assets in Montenegro.

It is believed that the tree is more than 2000 years old.
