White-Water Inflatable Kayak Trip: Salida Town Run Half-Day

This adventure meets at Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center. Our Outpost is located in Buena Vista, CO right on the banks of the Arkansas River, where you will meet your ACA certified instructor/guide and get geared up for the river. We provide each guest with a PFD and helmet. You also have the option of wearing a wetsuit, neoprene boots, and splash top, which we include free of charge! We will load up in a van and shuttle to the put-in. Then you'll be paddling your own inflatable kayak downstream 6 miles on the Arkansas River through some mellow whitewater and a few Class II rapids. You will end your river trip at the town of Salida, where we will have a shuttle waiting to bring you and your guide back to the outpost. Not only does this stretch of river give you a good introduction to paddling your own kayak through whitewater, but you will also get to take in the views of the surrounding mountains. Minimum age is 6 years old, with a parent present.
