Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Bujumbura

Pass By: Rusizi National Park, Gihanga, Bujumbura Burundi
Day 1. Welcome to the economical capital of Burundi, Bujumbura. Your midsize range hotel included (once confirmed based on availability). You will be picked up from the hotel at 9:00am. If you arrive to Bujumbura airport you will be picked up from the airport and transfer to your hotel and we will start the tour the next day to allow you time to relax and enjoy and prepare yourself for adventure. In the morning we visit Rusizi national park where a possible boat tour (or walking along the river) in Rusizi river can let you explore closer the hippo, numerous birds and the joining point between Rusizi River and Lake Tanganyika. Later we will explore Bujumbura city by car and foot. Next is Belvedere Climb that offers a beautiful view of Bujumbura City. We will proceed to Independence hero monument. After that, we visit Musee Vivant, the Snake and Culture Museum. The next stop is "La Pierre Livingstone et Stanely", a huge rock in the suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between explorers Stanley and Livingstone. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Kibira National Park

Pass By: Kibira National Park, Burundi
Visit Kibira National Park, for a guided nature walk. In this park, there is a possibility of spotting some animals and if lucky, white and black Columbus monkeys and chimpanzees. Enjoy the view of the Congo-Nile Ridge. Visit to the most remarkable and breath taking tea plantation and learn more about harvesting and processing teas of Burundi. Overnight at the hotel

Day 3: Source of Nile

Pass By: Musee Vivant, Bujumbura Burundi
We take the direction to the Source of Nile, and then to Karera Waterfalls. After Karera Waterfalls drive to Gitega, the second town and colonial capital of Burundi. Visit Gitega National Museum and Gitega city tour. Overnight at the hotel

Day 4: Gitega, Burundi

Pass By: National Museum of Gitega, Rn2, Gitega Burundi
Visit former King house and Gishora Drum. And as the bonus, before heading back to Bujumbura, we will stop at BUDECA (Burundi Deparcharge du Cafe), a coffee farm located in Gitega. The visit to the farm will take you through the coffee making process. After we will be heading back to Bujumbura and this will mark the end of the tour.
