Gamcheon Cultural Village in Busan is well know for its steep stairs, twisting alleys and cute houses.

Here, the creativity is in the air and there are art pieces at every step but the Gamcheon Cultural Village was not always like this.

Built in the 1950s by Korean War refugees, this village started as a shanty town.

Slowly, the people started building brick houses and the village got bigger and bigger in size.

Also named the "Machu Picchu of Busan" or the "Lego City,"

the Gamcheon Cultural Village became main tourist attraction of Busan in 2009

when the government decided to renovate it.

By collaborating with local artists, the village was reborn and it now attracts tourists from all over the world.

As soon as you enter the village, you will be overwhelmed by the handicrafts shops,

art galleries and street art.

Busan Yeongdo Bridge,commonly associated with the memories of refugees during the Korean War,

restored its function as a drawbridge on 23rd of Nov. 2013 to celebrate its 80th anniversary.

The Yeongdo bride was opened as the first drawbridge in the country on 23rd of Nov. 1934,

during the Japanese occupation period.

The bridge stopped functioning as a drawbridge in 1966, and was restored in 23rd of Nov, 2013

after 47 years.

The bridge has become a famous tourist attraction in Busan after being reopened,

with an average of 1,000 tourists visiting on weekdays, and over 3,000 on weekends.

The 'Presidential Residence in the Provisional Capital' was built in August 1926

and was used as the offical residence for the governor of South Gyeongsang Province during Japanese occupation.

During Korean War (1950-1953), Busan was the provisional capital of the country for 1,023 days and President Seungman Lee used this building as the presidential residence.

It has been called 'Gyeongmudae, or Presidential Residence' since then.

The 'Presidential Residence in the Provisional Capital' is a two-story wooden building

with a mixture of Western and Japanese architectural styles,

and built by the Japanese Governor-General of Korea during Japanese occupation.

it is the only remaining building, as the largest residence of a governor, built in South Korea in the 1920s

Yongdosan Moutain in downtown Busan is one of Busan's three famous mountains.

It was originally called Songhyeonsan Mountain, which means a mountain with a view of the sea through the dense pine tree forest.

Later, the name was changed to Yongdusan Mountain, as the mountain peak was shaped similar to a dragon's head (yongdu), protecting the area against foreign invaders overseas.

The tower offers a beautiful view of Busan Port and the surrounding scenery.

In particular, the night view from Busan tower is magnificent.

Huinnyeoul Culture Village is a simple village that retains the traces of the pain and time of the refugee history

that was created after the Korean War. This beautiful village resembles Greece's Santorini, built on the cliffs of the sea.

This place is attracting attention as a filming place, such as 'Attorney', 'Nameless Gangster'

Today, Huinnyeoul Culture Village transforming some houses on the huinnyeoul road into creative spaces,

encouraging local artists to create their creative minds, and creating a culture and art village

where people can feel culture and art in their daily lives.
