About this activity
Your overnight adventure kicks off with a three hour afternoon ocean kayak adventure that offers some of the best dolphin spotting opportunities in Byron Bay - not to mention turtles and migrating whales (during the months of May to October). From here, hit the road for a scenic drive through the Byron hinterland to the Mount Warning National Park. Set up camp for the night and unwind and relax around the campfire. Enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner and toast marshmallows before spending the night in your tent under the stars.

The next morning, after a delicious continental breakfast, take to the walking track for a two hour (4.5km) self-guided climb up Mount Warning reaching the summit as the sun starts to rise over the easternmost point of Australia. Soak up the awe-inspiring hinterland and ocean views before hitting the descent, which is equally as rewarding with the sounds of the rainforest, rich native wildlife and ancient palms and tree ferns. Every footstep on Mount Warning is like travelling back through hundreds of millions of years.

Return to Bryon Bay where your tour concludes.

The kayaking and camping trip are run by two different companies who do not communicate with each other. The kayaking was fine, but as soon as it was finished and still dripping wet, we then had to get into a minibus to drive to the campsite. The campsite was fine, we were given a burger for dinner and then went to bed at 8 as we were told that the sunrise walk would take 6 hours and we would have to get up at 2.40am. The headlamps did not work properly and the last 0.5km of the walk was signposted as being for experienced climbers only. My daughter was left to do the walk alone and the guide did not bother to check whether she had a mobile or enough water. The guide Greg was most unhelpful and the rudest person we met in our whole three weeks in Australia. There was no afternoon tea and no breakfast.
