About this activity
Meet at the Bryon Bay Visitor Centre at 5pm and travel by road to the campsite at the base of the Mount Warning. Take a splash in a rock pool or simply relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the Mount Warning National Park. Finish your day sitting around a campfire, toasting marshmallows and enjoying a delicious, locally sourced BBQ dinner before falling asleep under the stars in your tent.

The following morning rise before dawn, grab a quick breakfast and prepare for your climb.

At 3,792 feet (1156m) Mount Warning dominates the Byron Bay hinterland. As Byron Bay is the most easterly point of Australia, Mount Warning is the highest point in the region and this is where the sun first hits mainland Australia. The 5.6 mile (9km) roundtrip self-guided will take approximately 4 hours. This walk is not just for the very fit. It can be quite challenging but you can take it at your own pace and the paths are configured into a zigzag so that you are walking a gentle incline. When you reach the top of Mount Warning, you will be rewarded with 360 degree views from the hinterland to the ocean, they never fails to inspire!
