Jerez de la Frontera, well known for its wines, its horses and its flamenco, preserves a monumental centre that has been declared a historic artistic site. A stop at the Food Market illustrates why Jerez de la Frontera cuisine is so tasty: over fifty stalls selling fresh fish from giant tuna to bocarones and shellfish from huge spider crabs to diminutive Cadiz Bay shrimps, similar number of vegetable stalls where you can find every seasonal vegetable imaginable. An equal revelation are a smaller number of other stalls where we find from olives to Iberian ham or local cheese, a large number of offer that attracts everyday customers competing for the best fresh buys.
