Visit a cheese factory near Cagliari with tastings and workshops
Choose one of the following four options that combine Southern Sardinian local tradition, farming and gastronomy:
Option 1 - Local cheese factory visit + tasting (1.5 hours)
Discover the cheese factory, learning about its history and the process of cheese making. Visit the production rooms of various cheeses including both aged and fresh cheeses. You can see the hot packaging and the maturation process.
At the end of you visit, you can taste different cheeses. In addition, you may select to have a glass of wine to accompany your cheeses (additional cost of 4€).
Option 2 - Dairy production + local cheese factory visit (2.5 hours)
Firstly, you will visit a nearby farm where you can observe first-hand the animals involved in the production of cheese. Then, you will visit the cheese factory as described in option 1.
Option 3 - Visit to a winery with tasting + local cheese factory visit (3.5 hours)
You will visit a local winery where you will have the possibility to admire the ancient tools used to produce wine. You will see the fermentation area as well as the bottling plant. At the end, you will sample 4 different wines. Afterwards, you will visit the cheese factory as described in option 1.
Option 4 - local cheese factory visit + tasting workshop (3 hours)
You will firstly visit the cheese factory as described in option 1. Then you will be guided in a tasting workshop to discover olfactory analysis techniques for cheeses. You will discover various pairings with local Sardinian products including wine, oil, honey and marmalade.
