Atherton Tablelands Rainforest Crater Lakes Scenic Helicopter and Road Tour

To the discerning traveller, the opportunity to enjoy customised and personalised helicopter flights and packages is now here on the Atherton Tablelands for the first time, and we will get you to your destination from Cairns or the Northern Beaches upon your request. 

You will be collected from your hotel accommodation in or near Cairns at approx. 7:30am and taken by road to the Atherton Tablelands via the spectacular McAllister Range to the Tableland town of Mareeba and its airport. Here you will meet your pilot and become familiar with your aircraft during a safety briefing. Then it’s time to fly.

Fly south on your 30-minute flight from Mareeba airport over Tinaroo Dam and the spillway. Tinaroo is not only a popular fishing and water skiing haven but also the source of the highly productive Mareeba-Dimbulah irrigation scheme, but most importantly makes for some mind-blowing photos that even the locals haven’t seen. From here, it's on to the lush rainforest and undulating farmland around the picture-perfect crater Lakes regions of Lake Barrine and Eacham. Your pilot will circle around these crater lakes and even hover for that perfect photo opportunity. Now its time to circle around some of the most fertile agricultural farming country you'll ever see, with the famous extinct volcanic mountains of the 7 sisters as your backdrop. Then you fly over the picturesque historical village of Yungaburra, don’t forget to wave to the locals below. Upon your return to Mareeba airport there is still time to capture different angles of the red soil farming lands across Mango, avocado banana macadamia and coffee plantations before landing.

Now it's time to travel by road I take you to see the most outstanding scenery you have just flown over, but now we get to experience the flora and fauna at ground level. walk slowly through the forest and take in the sound of many various native birds unique to Australias tropical rainforests. See the famous giant Kari Pines over 1000 years old, to the smallest ferns mosses and lichens of the oldest world heritage listed rainforest in the world. See the best waterfalls lookouts and unique wildlife this tropical paradise has to offer.

Enjoy a huge lunch planned around your diet and taste. Visit wineries, coffee plantations and dairy farms, before your leisurely descent down the Lamb Range to Cairns and the driveway of your accommodation .
