About this activity

You will be collected from your Cairns accommodation and taken directly to the Smithfield Skyrail station, embarking upon your Skyrail adventure expect to be awestruck as you gently sail above the World Heritage Listed Tropical rainforest of Kuranda towards the Atherton Tablelands, truly a sight never to be missed. Take in the sights of Barron Gorge and its spectacular waterfall. photograph ancient world heritage rainforest and the spectacular coral coast and fringe. 
Now its time to catch your cruise down the Barron River, You can expect to see the endangered Southern Cassowary, an array of rare bird life, reptiles and plant life endemic to this area. Your cruise time will also include a delicious morning tea.

Continuing half an hour by road we begin to see contrasting changes in the landscape as we drive towards the Savannah Region and dine on fine cuisine for lunch at a well-known outback Cafe' or a working coffee plantation situated in Mareeba, either location offers a beautiful backdrop looking over the peaks of the Great Dividing Range and savannah gardens. 

After lunch, it's time for your optional 40 min scenic helicopter flight from Mareeba Airport. Fly over Tinaroo Dam, Lake Barrine, Lake Eacham and the Tablelands heritage town of Yungaburra. You can even ask the pilot to hover or slowdown to capture that once in a lifetime shot.

After your Helicopter adventure, it's time to explore the Golden Drop Mango Winery, a large-scale, tropical fruit winery on a working mango plantation. Here you can sample and purchase your choice of lovely refreshing tropical Mango Wines, together with Citrus Cellos, Mango Port, and Golden Mango liqueur style wines. A unique locally owned 100% Australian company.

Finally, we take the inland road back down towards Port Douglas, via the small outback timber town of Mt Molloy. Watch the landscape turn from savannah wetlands to rainforest in just 30 mins as we wind our way back to the coastal fringe, and drive the heritage listed scenic coastal drive towards Cairns. If time prevails, tapas under the coconut palms by the sea at Palm Cove will make a great finish to your day.
