About this activity
Cruising through Cairns’ tidal estuary on the air-conditioned Crocodile Explorer, follow the waterways of this stunning estuary, backed by rainforest and mountains. As the boat weaves through the mangroves, you’ll have the chance to spot crocodiles basking on the riverbank, especially in the cooler months.
Your friendly, informative crew will share insights on the life of a crocodile, including their breeding habits. As you cruise along the Cairns waterfront, they’ll also highlight points of interest and share tales from the history of the harbor.
With external and internal viewing areas, the boat operates in all weather. On board you’ll find a fully licensed bar with snacks and souvenirs available (own expense), includes afternoon tea. Children can take a tour of the wheelhouse and they receive a Crocodile Certificate and crocodile coloring-in sheet.
You have the option to include lunch at Dundee's Restaurant, one of Cairns’ best restaurants located right on the waterfront and just a short stroll from the ferry terminal. Prior to boarding the harbor cruise, enjoy a two-course meal with a selection of starters, main courses and desserts. A children’s menu is also available.

The weather wasn't exceptionally good the day we went (July 14). We mostly wanted to see crocodiles, but didn't. The information given was about boats and structures within the harbour. We went on a tour a few days later by the Daintree River which was more to our liking.
Afternoon harbour cruise with afternoon tea. Lovely relaxing cruise along the harbour, with a very informative talk from our driver. Calm water all the way. Got to see a salt water crocodile on the bank, which was a highlight of the cruise. Selection of cakes and hot drinks and also a bar if you wanted an alcoholic drink. Very reasonably priced, with nice clean boat and friendly crew.
