This tour is available on days cruise ships tender into Yorkey's Knob or dock at Cairns Cruiseship Terminal (please note, this shore excursion is not available from Port Douglas).

After your pickup from Yorkey's Knob Marina or Cairns Cruiseship Terminal, or hotel accommodation, head towards the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway terminal at Smithfield where you will begin your memorable journey up the Kuranda Range taking in the spectacular views over Cairns' northern beaches.

There are two stops on your journey for you to enjoy the rainforest and wildlife as well as get a birds eye view over Barron Falls. Your local guide will be at the skyrail terminal in Kuranda to transfer you the short distance to Kuranda Village where you can have a leisurely wander around the markets and shops. Next enjoy lunch at the award winning Frog's Restaurant including tea or coffee.

Depending upon your ship itinerary you will either have tickets on the 2pm or 3pm train. Your local guide will be down the bottom of the Range waiting for you at Freshwater Station where you will then be taken to either the Marina at Yorkey's Knob or the terminal in Cairns.

Eileen picked us up at the cruise port after we came in on the tenders. We proceeded to the cableway and rode halfway, then toured part of the rainforest and continued on the cableway. We had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant in Kuranda, had time to shop around and then got on the train back to Cairns. The whole tour was fantastic. We loved the rainforest! The train ride was interesting, but not the highlight of the trip. I highly recommend this tour. It's much better than one off the ship , cheaper and a smaller group and lunch is included!!

This was a great tour. Clive picked us 6 up at our location and took us to the sights. He was informative and helpful. First stop was the cable car (gondola) ride up to Kuranda. The rainforest sights were beautiful as was the scenery. On the way we stopped at Barron Falls which was breathtaking. Clive met us at the top and drove us to Kuranda village where we had 2 hours to walk around before having lunch. Two hours is quite long to spend up in that tiny village. We killed time by visiting the Koala enclosure where we fed many wallabies and kangaroos. There is also a butterfly park and bird sanctuary which we didn't opt to visit. We also shopped a little and bought some souvenirs. Each place had separate entry fees. Lunch was AMAZING. There were many choices and most of us had the steak or barramundi fillet. Clive then set us up at the railway station for us to head back down. The train ride was pleasant but long (almost 1.5 hours) and most of the scenery was rainforest. The commentary was interesting. Back at the station, Clive picked us up and dropped us back at the hotel. All in all the tour ran from around 8:45am till about 4pm. Clive and Eileen were great in their communication and I recommend this tour!

Enjoyed the day. The rainforest was beautiful. Clive was a great guide. Unfortunately the train was shut down for maintenance but company substituted the Aquarium which was a plus for us.

Eileen Smith our tour guide was excellent. She was knowledgeable and friendly. She had everything timed out so we would have little waiting. The rain forest and railway were breathtaking and lunch was outstanding.

Good tour. Only issue was that guide told us there wasn't much to do at the village and suggested we leave at an earlier time, so we agreed only to regret that decision.

Very good and informative tour. Lunch was excellent too. We were told by others afterwards that the tour is better the other way around, train first and Skyrail to come back down but we enjoyed it anyway.
