Saqqara: the land of the treasures!

The desert plateau above the modern village of Saqqara formed one of the main cemeteries of the ancient Egyptian capital city of Memphis for thousands of years. As such, it attracted a large number of royal and high prestige burials, the remains of which can be seen in pyramids and decorated tombs

Saqqara features numerous pyramids, including the famous Step Pyramid of king Djoser the oldest pyramid in Egypt and its beautiful temple , columns way and the house of the north and the south,

Also you can see and get into the pyramid of King Unas which is famous of its amazing Texts inside it, and the small pyramid of king Titi ,and other magnificent painted tombs of the high officials in ancient Egypt like the tomb of vizier Kagemni with its unique decorations and scenes and the ancient doctor Ankhmahor's tomb.

And the most beautiful monument of Meriruka, the largest of the Old Kingdom tombs at Saqqara and reflects his very important position as a vieser with its wall relief of the inner courtyard and entrance gateway,.

You will visit also tombs of the Nobles with its colored scenes like the two brothers niankhnom and khnomhotep and Irukaptah with its famous scenes of daily life activities in ancient Egypt

Saqqara's Necropolis used in the new kingdom as well so you can visit more painted & decorated tombs of Maya who was the Overseer of the Treasury during the reign of Pharaoh Tutankhamun and Horemheb .

Also including a visit to the museum of Imhotep, the ancient Egyptian architect who built the step pyramid .the museum contains six large halls full of masterpieces from Saqqara area.

Finally a very unique visit to the Serapeum! A new experience to walk through a long tunnel under the ground, It was a burial place of Apis, sacred bulls with many huge ancient sarcophagi
