About this activity

Itinerary:

Your guide will pick you up at 8 am and drive you to Cairo Necropolis, also called City of the Dead or "Qaraafa, Araafa",founded in 642 AD.

It's a four mile long cemetery stretching from the northern to the southern part of Cairo. To the people of Cairo and other Egyptians, it is simply el'araafa, which is Arabic Egyptian for "the cemetery".

It is a bustling grid of tombs and mausoleums where people live and work among their dead and ancestors.

Many residents live here to be near their loved ones, or because they were forced from more crowded areas in Cairo. Your guide will show you around, and drive you back to your hotel after the tour is finished.
