About this activity
Your guide will pick you up from the lobby of your hotel at 8am holding a signboard with your name on it and then accompany you to your private vehicle.
On this day tour you will see the Egyptian Museum where you may find over 160,000 objects and they are all dated back to different periods from the Ancient Egyptian History. Enjoy master pieces of art, see statues of kings who had built the pyramids, marvel at the most famous Pharaoh kings and mummies, and don't miss out on the treasures of the young pharaoh Tutankhamen. It took 10 years for his treasures to be transported from the tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor to be shown here in Cairo. See the Citadel of Salah El-Din, built in 12th Century AD, the building that rose up like a watch tower over the hills.
After, travel to Old Cairo, the place where you could find peace and tolerance between the three religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Synagogue, church, and mosque are all together in one place. Starting with the Hanging Church of the Holy Virgin Mary, your guide will talk about the flight of the Holy family into Egypt and Jesus Christ saying "Blessed be my people of Egypt". You will see where they took a refuge in a crypt in the Oldest Church of Abu Serga, Then you will see one of two Jewish temples in Cairo, the synagogue of Ben Ezra is one of the best places to talk about the Exodus and the Pharaoh of Moses. Finally you will stop by the Mosque of Amr Ibn Al Aas which was officially the first mosque ever built in Africa.
Stepping inside the Khan El Khalili Old Market and Bazaar feels like going back in time 1,000 years. Feel the beautiful oriental atmosphere of Cairo in old times while walking through Bazaars, sellers, old mosques, old houses, and inhale the nice smell of perfumes and spices.

Our guide Shaimaa Zidan was a Cairo college-educated Egyptologist, she was wonderful and knowledgable. She spared no effort on that very hot day to show us as much Cairo as possible, to answer any questions we had, and to micromanage our tour itinerary to accommodate for slight changes around the Hanging Church which happened to have a mass when we arrived there. She is a sensational, hard working tour guide, thank you! Her boss Mostafa called in a couple of times during the day to ask if we were doing well and if everything was good.
