Private Day Tour: Giza Pyramids, Old Cairo, and El Mokattam Mountain Cave Church

The day begins at 8am when your private guide meets you in your hotel lobby and escorts you to your private air-conditioned minivan, complete with Wi-Fi, for the journey to the Giza Plateau. Visit the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and marvel at its majestic dimensions. Stroll up the plateau to admire all three pyramids together: they were built by Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. Enjoy a short camel ride through the desert, before exploring the Valley Temple of Khafre and admiring the mighty Sphinx.

After lunch on the Nile Cruise , you'll drive back to the UNESCO-listed area of Old Cairo to discover its heritage and history. Visit the remains of the Roman Babylon Fortress, and the Coptic Christian Hanging Church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Discover the Jewish Ben Ezra Synagogue, which was once a church, and explore the Greek Orthodox Church of St George.

Finally, drive out to the Mokattam suburb to visit the extraordinary El Mokattam Mountain Cave Church, carved out of solid rock by Christian garbage collectors who pick trash near here. You'll return to your hotel around 4pm.
