Two days private trip to Giza pyramids,Sakkara and Cairo main attractions

DAY ONE

We will pick you up from your hotel.With your own guide, visit the Giza pyramids area in an air-conditioned van. The Egyptologist will provide you with all the history of the area, the 9 pyramids of the kings, queens and princesses, the sphinx, the valley temple of mummification. You will have enough time for photography in different sides, extra options such as entering one of the pyramids, visiting the sun boat museum or riding a camel around the area.

The fascinating experience will carry on with your visit to Sakkara, the necropolis of the old kingdom where the oldest pyramid of king Zoser was built 2800 BC. Enjoy the colored wall paintings that date thousands of years ago by entering one of the tombs of the nobles. On top of a little mount in Sakkara, you can have a panoramic view of many more pyramids around.

Drive shortly to Memphis, the oldest capital city of Ancient Egypt; you will be impressed by the giant colossus of Ramses the great, the alabaster Sphinx and many other monuments in the open-air museum.at the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at the hotel

DAY TWO

Other wonderful places are waiting for you today; you will enjoy the main attractions of the city of Cairo. Start your day tour with a visit to the Egyptian museum. Your Egyptologist guide will give you an introduction of this massive place. The museum, which was opened in 1901, houses thousands of monuments and artifacts. You will be overwhelmed by what you see around you: statues of the great pharaohs, golden treasures, tools, mummies and much more. You will spend wonderful time moving among the treasures of king Tut Ankh Amun. Although, you need weeks and weeks to cover everything in this huge building, however, your guide will explain with passion the highlights and must-see pieces. Then you will enjoy free time to go and browse here and there.

Following this visit, you will next enjoy a visit to the Citadel of Saladin, a 12th century fortress that was built on a cliff of the highest mountain in Cairo, some the towers and gates of the fort still in situ.

Inside the citadel, you will go inside the mosque of Mohamed Ali known as the Alabaster mosque. Built in 1830, designed by a Turkish architect who followed the same style of the Blue mosque of Sultan Ahmed in Istanbul. Your Egyptologist will explain the main elements of the mosque and basic Islamic principles. Before leaving the citadel area, you will see a panoramic view of the whole city with its old and modern surroundings.

The last part of the tour is the souk of khan El Khalili where you can have free time around the shops and cafes. Our tour guide will invite you to have a local drink in the oldest coffee shop in Cairo; EL Fishawy.
