Stop At: El Meco Ruins, Puerto Juarez 77500 Mexico

El Meco, a small but influential Mayan Archaeological site located in Cancun, was just recently opened to the public. The site is well preserved and worth a visit before heading to Cancun beaches or hopping on the Isla Mujeres ferry. The Itzamna influence is evident in this location. Serpent heads decorate the castillo staircase, the highest Mayan pyramid in the Cancun area.

This popular flea market is located in downtown Cancun. It is large and maze-like, filled with vendors trying to get you to enter their stores. In the center of the market, there is a "food court" with many restaurants that serve authentic Mexican food and seafood at economical prices.

Puerto Morelos is one of the best kept secrets in the Yucatan. Anyone who happens into this awesome little Caribbean town quickly falls in love! The town is growing, but in ways that enhance it instead of cause it to lose its charm and appeal.

Stop At: La Ruta de los Cenotes, Puerto Morelos Mexico

One of the best areas for experiencing cenotes in the Riviera Maya is a strip in Puerto Morelos, where cenotes dot the jungle on either side of the road for several kilometers. Get to know the cenote called "Ojo de jaguar" that means eye of the Jaguar.
