About this activity
The adventure begins with an early pick up at the hotel lobby and continues across the road, then turns on the scenic "Route of the Cenotes" until you reach the town of Leona Vicario. First, you get to know about how religion is perceived by visiting the local church. The rest of the tour will be conducted using the typical transport in the region, the "triciclo", a kind of bike ride
We will visit a school to see how the kids have fun and appreciate something as simple as a pencil. Then we will visit a wood handicraft factory where you will see how to turn a log into a vase or ashtray in less than 10 minutes. Seeing the local cemetery will show us how in Mexico the death is not feared, instead is venerated all the passed away ancestors.
Then a family invite people to their home to teach you how they live and share the food they make, and how to prepare it.
After leaving Leona Vicario, there are 2 options. Puerto Morelos, a typical fishing village, its square and its lovely people. On the other hand, for a special price of nearly 60% off regular admission you can visit Crococun. This park is a sanctuary of crocodiles, monkeys, deer, snakes and other animals that people have discarded as pets and rescued. Here the guides of Crococun instill the value of respect for wildlife, to continue admiring the beauties offered by our planet.
After all that travel, you back to the hotel in time for lunch and still enjoying a wonderful day.

the tour in the town was ok-it was the picking up by the tour co. that was the problem. we were on the bus longer for pickups at the hotels than the tour itself. we also enjoyed the free time after the tour in the little fishing port where we found great place to eat lunch. we took this tour because they said it would be 6-7 hours long. we left at 7:15 and got back at 5:10.
