Long drive but very timely pickup. Once we got to Mayaland we were met by a hotel rep who helped secure our tickets. Wish we would’ve known cash only for tickets but there was an ATM. We enjoyed touring the Chichen Itza without a tour guide because we have kids who would not have liked it.

This was a great option for those who want more time at Chichen Itza to explore on your own without a guide. On a previous tour I only had an hour to see much of the site as too much time was spent with a large group eating lunch and visiting a cenote. My main complaint is that there was inadequate explanation at the Mayaland Hotel on what we had access to at their facility cenote, pool, towels, etc. This did not really matter too much as we were more interested in spending time inside Chichen Itza.

It was a wonderful time. We had the ability to add on the Cenote! Do it. I am glad we didn't have the guide. He was a bit tedious and it was nice to ditch him at the entrance. This is well worth the price.

The only thing this package includes is the transportation to Chichen Itza! Yes, access to the hospitality suite is nice, but it doesn't compensate for the shortcoming of the package. I understand it is very well described as far as what it included and what is excluded, but I didn't quite get all that until I got to Mayaland Resort. I realized it when we were separated from the rest of the group by the driver. He was down right rude and basically neglected us because I believe he thought we were cheap for choosing this package. I do have to give credit for coming back to pick us up as we were late getting to the pickup point due to a missed email. I ended up paying for everything - entrance fees, tour guide, lunch, 360 Maya Skies show, and basically, got ripped off... One of the reasons why I chose this package was because of its mentioned close proximity to the Cenote, but it turns out the one within walking distance, Xtoloc, is sacred and swimming is not allowed in it. The one that allows swimming is called Ik Kil, which requires a ride and entrance fee, none of which are again included in this package. I was profusely disappointed for not being able to visit the Cenote.

Come prepared! If you do not take the tours you are dumped off, no issues just a warning for those that prefer to roam. My biggest grievance would be road safety. Cutting lanes in the corners may improve the stability of a vehicle in the corner, providing Newton's physics are not put to the test by oncoming traffic. it only takes milliseconds of inattention. I'm sure your company motto does not include safety second. Heads up folks we're in this together.
